Staff visiting the boat
The team of the Grenada Chocolate Company has been preparing and wrapping 4 tons of chocolate to go on the boat (yes: that’s 24.000 bars…). Everything is ready to go on board and for the first time they will have to miss Mott for a period as long as 2 months that he will be on board with the chocolates. Enough reasons to come and inspect the boat themselves!
The staff of the factory and several cocoa farmers came down from Hermitage to St George (about an hour drive in beautiful curvy roads with tropical forest). The boat is lying in a secured area of the harbor so we all passed security first. An impressive view of the ship – every time again – lying peacefully on the beautiful carenage.
The team gets on board, a warm welcome of the crew and captain Jorne gives them a grand tour of the ship, explaining how everything works and what the crew does when sailing. On deck he describes how the inside of the boat is structured and than he invites everybody to walk around. Cocoa farmers used to machetes were very interested to see the tools on board and intrigued by the sollutions found to fix and maintian things. Several women inspecting the kitchen and all of them impressed by the sleeping area. Wonderful day on board, so nice to see the team of the Grenada Chocolate Company on the ship after the many stories they have been hearing about it for so long…
